    How do you clean figures?

Yep baby wipes without perfumes, and for more sticky things I use a soft makeup sponge. For detail I use extra cotton earwax sticks. I always dry with normal cotton or an usb fan and my soft cotton gloves which serves two fold. No fatty fingers and automatically drying effect. For light I use a...

You try and help some people.......

However lovely (and I love it) Star Wars tracker is a tool not the truth. It is a model that displays the past market not the present. Small details in a MOC can mean a huge difference that you are unaware of. And your “help” might unintentionally lead you to mislead the guy. I do agree there...

Have prices peaked? Where are they going?

90 Loose figures are much easier to display than 90 Mocs. So market segment for Mocs is much smaller and their desire is more grounded with solid veteran collectors. Hence the slower price jumps. Loose figures are marred by flippers and investors, who push prices up. Even close to Mocs. Which is...

Best places and sites to sell my Star Wars Collection

That is my observation too. One thing is sure though there are three major types of demanders. Flippers, investors (long term flippers) and collectors. No matter what will be an interesting follow for me 8)

Best places and sites to sell my Star Wars Collection

Definitely go to valuation thread first. We can help spot rare weapons, special variations etc. I am a market researcher myself, and intrigued to see how this coming flood of collections being sold due to the wild price jump will impact the market. Huge collections popping up everywhere. Win...

No luck but am I being ripped off?

I use it. Think I have saved around 500£ already using this tool as a guideline to work from. Can’t live without. Just careful that the leia Bespin displayed as painted neck is in fact turtleneck. And other small tidbits. Hmmm I should probably let the author know.

Star Wars collection needs to looked at

Sounds like a huge collection. A few photos in the "vintage valuation" can give you a rough idea for starters and if worth to continue digging into it, then do more detailed Lucie award winning portfolio whatchamacallit

No luck but am I being ripped off?

Din you get conned? I think I din loose track of what happened. Glad Snaketibe sorted it out. PS. What hair colour are you looking for? Will keep an eye out for you as I am an SWAN! (Star Wars Addict Noob) I got plenty of Alec Guinesses, so I don't need another anyway, no...

Is Star Wars only for the rich ?

Isn’t it tax heavy to buy from the states? On eBay and such? I mean from us in Scandinavia and UK? I always avoid us in my searches for that reason

When did collecting become so aggressive?

Definately a minefield to maneuver. Especially to us newbies. I often get no response when I ask for a better picture of guns and accessories. I take it they know it is repro but want $$ All I've traded with on eBay have been very nice.

    The vagaries of graded figs

Display preferences are individual. I find some ugrade 80 prettier than some 85. It is a subjective unscientific grading process that makes its own existence paradoxal. But it guarantees less risk when selling again. Authentication makes much more sense in binary question of yes and no. Like...

    When did you.......

I am all over the place :S On this forum a few times daily, just lingering and absorbing wisdom. On Ebay every night searching for stuff. Worst mistake ever to fall in love with this forum and collecting again... Bought a Carrie fisher signed photo yesterday and a blue-ray movie...

    The vagaries of graded figs

I would rather have a figure in one of Iain's display containers and a handful of pictures to decide if something belongs in my collection. That big AFA/UKG number stamp doesn't look pretty. Gives the whole collection an artificial scientific look, rather than a genuine romantic look.

Whats inspired recent influx of new members?

Podcasts? And welcome onboard. My Best advice is to figure out how to showcase your collection and space you are willing to use. For me a collection stored in boxes is close to worthless. Needs to look nice 8) Oh and what podcasts?
