Show of your truly rare items

I really like the plastic bag, that's a great piece. Also, the black and white Capture Log print without the red seems unique. I do like paperwork! and as for the Lyons Maid sign - that's a fabulous item to own. I have posted my Palitoy and Kenner letters before on another thread and believe...

    Stormy in the wild

Good tip, thank you. It's a long time since I had any zit cream in the house. Active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide which is described as having bleaching properties. I'll let you know how I get on.

    Stormy in the wild

What a great gift and very nice condition - lucky man! Have you had any luck cleaning the red from the legs? Any idea what it is? I have a Trilogo stormtrooper that has a similar red discoloration on its legs - I thought it happened in storage with colour transfer from my snaggletooth, but I...

Star Wars Toy of the Week Index

My sentiments exactly.... Please don't change the format... it's really great clicking that link and seeing the opening image and introduction to the toy that you have selected. Really appreciate the work you must put into this Lars and seeing everyone's contribution too.

    Help with ERG cardback

Can anyone help me to re-associate my Emperor's Royal Guards with their correct cardbacks? I have two ERGs and two cardbacks (good start!), all coming from my childhood collection so I am confident that the figures should pair with the cardbacks. The cardbacks are: Kenner ROTJ65/A and Card 2)...

Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

Is your black and white letter identical to the one I have? Mine does seem fairly generic but I figured the token may need to vary in value. Would be interested to get a glimpse - any pics?

Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

Totally agree. I would really like my original card backs to have their name plates back. I got the emperor and nien nunb for my troubles, but would probably have got them in any case.

Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

To be honest I just never threw much away. I guess I kept the second letter with the first in the hope I would get to use the tokens at some stage. It all went flat in the bottom of a vehicle box, forgotten about and uncovered 30 years later!

Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

I thought I'd share some paperwork that I have that shows a bit of history for Palitoy and Kenner Parker in the UK, 1984 -1985. There were various send-away offers at the time (1984) and you can see that I cut out three names from cardbacks and sent off £2.99 for a Hoth Wampa. Disappointingly...

    How were figures painted?

This Han in Trench Coat (ROTJ 77 back) could have been done a bit better. Not sure about the freckles!

    Your personal favourite underrated figure

Cloud Car pilot gets my vote also. I don't remember it being readily available so always thought it a rarity. I also loved any figure that came with cloth, so Squid Head, Bib Fortuna, the figures with ponchos and kilts were all favourites.

    Protection from UV / daylight

I've stored mine out of sunlight in boxes, some bubbles have yellowed whereas others have stayed clear, so I'm not sure that it is just UV exposure that causes the yellowing. My guess is that original manufacture quality, UV exposure, as well as temperature of storage conditions may also have...

    Factory defects

Pretty sure it left the factory like that due to a bad pour. (It wasn't squashed or cut as it's been mine since the shop). Something intriguing about that Boba!!

    Factory defects

I'm archiving some figures and noticed a peculiarity on the back of my Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi (tri-logo Made in China). There is a small dent and a longer crease in the back of his head. Clicking through other images of the same figure I don't see this sort of thing. Has anyone else noticed this...
