Re: Latest Acquisitions

It only seems like a few months ago (probably because it was) that I bought my first 30 back having decided to put a run together after finishing my Palitoy first 12 on re-seals. Well, another 6 down means I only have 6 left to complete it! It's mainly thanks to some other members here and collectin...

Re: Palitoy Prototypes!

These came originally from Kenner so in that sense it checks out - that and the alternate sculpt (WOW) even Ree Yees looks cool. The Q&A next Saturday is going to be AMAZING. 1st proper opportunity to quiz the right kind of people about the production processes at Palitoy. I'm certainly hoping t...

Re: Loose figure collections

Call it coincidence, but im contemplating getting rid of my last 17 so i can purchase the last 4 Palitoy 12 back reseals i need for my collection. Those alone give me what i want from my collection. This was the same kind of reasoning for me to sell my loose. I need to buy some 30 backs re-seals - ...

Re: Loose figure collections

Funny you should bring this up at moment, I sold my loose run last year and haven't had any on display except a Greedo for several months. Last couple of months I've been feeling pretty Star Wars'd out, so I've decided to tone it down and put together a loose collection again to hopefully ignite th...

Loose figure collections

When I got back into collecting again over 6 years ago the first thing I did was put together a loose set. Then rarer loose figures lige VCJ's and variants. Over time my focus has shifted and I've always felt like a loose set is the corner stone of any vintage collection, and without such, it's miss...

He had only just joined the Palitoy and Beyond the Toys group last week!

Not dealt with him directly before but engaged many times on FB.

RIP sir.

Re: Boba Fett Kenner action figure

It's a repro, and not a very good one. Figure looks knackered too so basically the price of a beater - £4. If the gun is real, and not a repro (doubtful) add another £12-14 on top. Nothing if it is repro.

I do hope you paid very little for it.

Re: How does collecting compare to a year ago?

The variant thing is certainly on the wane IMO. Not sure why that is but prices have reached a plateau and in some cases dropped. I'm finding the Palitoy Collectors page really busy ATM, with loads of new members join in recent weeks - think we're at 1300 now. And as Poncho says, the Beyond The Toys...

Re: Palitoy Three Position Laser Rifle

Hi, (thanks Carl), I reckon you're not far off, in that condition £450-500 is about right. Dave Tree has had one for sale for a while and not sold (as far as I know) as of yet and that's at £500 in similar condition.

Re: I didnt know this...

I'm not so sure this was designed this way - more a question of it being discovered you can do it rather than it being done for that purpose.

Surely Kenner would have advertised this feature in some way? Cool nontheless.

Re: Becoming desensitised to money due to collecting?

To a degree yes. It also makes me feel uncomfortable sometimes if I'm totally honest. I look at a piece in my collection and think 'that's £1000 worth of plastic just sitting there' - and then I think of all the toys/clothes/holidays that could buy for my kids - who I have to say never, ever go with...
