My top 5

First 12 stand and figures ...iconic to me and was a must so lucky that I have this in my collection due to the forum, it makes me smile every day

4 pack Mailer .... this was a rescue piece .. again due to this forum ( Frunkstar ...Frank great bloke!). now have the Mailer box, the catalogue and the 4 figures

21 back Fett.... thanks to Ian ( Palifan) was able to add this to the 21 back run, it's a reseal and obvious repair, but love the piece

21 back run mixed Palitoy and Kenner.... Again massive thanks to Palifan ( Ian) who allowed me to purchase some of the reseals to get this run going nearing the end on this, need an R5 badly but will get there in t he end again this makes me smile every day

3 line LFB.... this was the first figure in my collection and one I had from 1983 which I picked up at a car boot for pennies, whilst starting to get items for my son ( with whom I have collected since and have a great SW collecting bond with, which has now evolved as my 2 year old Grandson is a SW fan)

3 line Luke is in the 12 back LFB on the 21 back display

Sorry cheating  have to put this in as well

ROTJ Fett reseal
Lovely items Michael. Those reseals look great.

I was lucky to have my childhood toys as they were left in my parents loft so my top 5 relate to those childhood memories and items.

No 1 would be the only picture I have from when I was a kid of my collection set up as a Hoth base probably about 1981 ish
No 2 would be a poor x wing I painted to look like a spitfire when I was a kid which I still have below missing 3 guns should get some replacements
No3 is a box I found in the loft which contained what was left of my Topps cards and other bits a pieces really brought the memories back, swappsies anyone :D
The fourth and fifth would be my childhood ATAT and Falcon as they were involved in all my Star Wars play, some photos below
stay safe everyone :)
Some great personal items. That photo is awesome

These probably change regularly, but as of now and in no particular order:

R2D2 12" boxed - had one as a kid and loved it. It's a great likeness, is fun to play with and the box artwork/design is really cool too.

First 12 display stand - this is popping up regularly in this thread but it's easy to see why. I actually bought one of these when someone was selling it with a complete set of first 12, and it seemed like an easy way to upgrade my figures. I really didn't appreciate it till I had it set up in front of me and... wow. Just wow. It just looks amazing and is one of the few items I haven't removed from my display to make room for something else.

Land of the Jawas Palitoy set - again we had this as kids so there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it.

Power Droid MOC - I loved this figure as a kid and I love how the photo really pops out from the card!

Leia Bespin 31-back MOC - it's all about the cardback here. That photo!! 8)

ESB carded Greedo-- this was the first figure I remember my dad buying me. Love the green guy

AtAt-- again, another toy I had back in the day and got a lot of enjoyment from

ESB carded Vader-- mine a a little bit of a beater but it's good. Probably the second figure my dad bought me back in the day.

Meccano mis-bubble Yoda-- bought this in the early 90s from a dealer. The bubble came loose years ago but it's all original. Probably the rarest piece I own.

White Tie Fighter-- the toy I always wanted. Picked one up loose at FF years ago for about £20. Absolutely made up with it.

This is a great idea for a thread, but I must admit I was struggling initially to choose my 5 favourites overall in my collection. However, after a bit of thought, I think I have to go back to my childhood and choose those toys which meant the most to me back then, which basically means Palitoy playsets and vehicles:

1) Palitoy Death Star. Quite simply my favourite ever toy:

Kicking Kenner's Ass - 01.jpg

2) Palitoy Land of the Jawas. Most people seem to prefer the Cantina, but I always liked this one more:

Palitoy LOTJ - Extra 02.jpg

3) Palitoy Cantina. Just because I prefer the Land of the Jawas, doesn't mean I don't still love the Palitoy Cantina :-D:

4) Palitoy Droid Factory. Finishing off the Palitoy Star Wars playset collection, another favourite from my childhood. Who doesn't love a 3-legged R2-D2? :-D

5) Palitoy Land Speeder. One of my very first Star Wars toys, and one which will always hold a special place in my affections:

Some nice choices Jeremy. The artwork on those original Star Wars boxes is really something. I have the Kenner versions of the Cantina and Landspeeder and they are two of my favourite vehicles and play sets. I think the landspeeder is really cool... so clever how they made it to look like it was hovering.

More great choices and it's really nice to see all the Palitoy variant boxes together like this Jeremy, just shows the world how great that British design can be! :D

Guys,

Really, you all have fantastic items to show 8) Here is my humble contribution (in random order):

1) Carded die cast Darth Vader Tie Fighter. I like the bilingual ANH card and of course the Tie Fighter is great!

2) Clipper ANH R2D2 model kit. It is still packed in cellophane, so never opened :D

3) Palitoy Turret and Probot play set. Lot of playability and I like the Imperial Probe very much

4) YPS Snowtrooper. I bought the G.I. Joe gun later by purchasing the enemy battle gear set.

5) Unpunched POTF cardback Imperial Gunner. Nice card with the coin still attached!

Lovely items. Love the artwork on the model kits. Great you picked it up in a clipper box and it's mint.
Thanks mate! Bought the R2 from a couple that had cleaned their attic. They also offered me a C3PO kit from Clipper. Bought that one too, but was opened and has no assembly description, unfortunately

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the offer mate, but I think I will let poor 3PO in his box. I guess Chewie likes him this way

I've been wanting to post to this thread for a while but seem to be busier than ever at the moment. Choosing just five was actually quite hard and I'm sure some of these might change over time. Anyway, here we go:

1. My childhood Power Droid

IMG_1008.JPG

Whilst I have all my childhood toys (except one), I vividly remember getting this as it was when my parents sat me down at three years old to tell me I was going to have a little brother.

2. Tri Yak

IMG_1007.JPG

Not for the reasons you might think! When I first started collecting in the mid 90's my dear grandmother asked around the shops near her and got hold of a small haul including this. We told her how valuable it was but she wouldn't take a penny for it and I wouldn't sell it now now matter how silly the prices go. For the Swindon lads, this and two others were found in the South Marston post office, 50p each!

3. Empire Strikes Back VHS Store Display

IMG_4042 (2).JPG

I've always thought this was the best poster art for of any of the films and it looks great being made of chunky cardboard.

4. Adidas Limited Edition Jabba Hi-Tops

IMG_1009.JPG

I just thought these were cool and I love the MOC style. They're pretty hard to display though.

5. Micro Collection Run

IMG_0227 (2).JPG

I love this run and managed to put it together through some of the nicest gentlemen in the hobby.
