My loose collection is starting to come together and I'm thinking about displaying them. I was watching an episode of retroblasting and would love something like this (see photo), particularly the logo and stripes surround - any thoughts on how to achieve this, or if any of you chaps have done something similar ?

Cheers

Good luck with your display.

There you go. Those are cool. I especially like the first 21 one, would like to see one in that style but for all the figures 8)
If you're based in the US this guy does a limited number of bespoke builds but they're not cheap
https://www.facebook.com/figuredisplay/

If you're not in the US he normally does the graphic kits, which you can buy and then build or get built the cabinet yourself. Doesn't appear to have them at the moment though

The Star Wars racetrack one is the best I have seen so far but I also love the idea of using a backing card design.

If you don't have any wall space what do you think about a table top display (horizontal display built in to a table)?

It certainly does. Thanks again. I really like that collect all 21 display as it's really tastefully done I think. Have messaged the chap so hopefully if it comes to fruition will report back to the forum!

I just scanned a 12 back and had a muck about with it on photoshop (whilst watching West Ham Liverpool! :p ) just quickly with a bit of cut and paste. It's only a crude mock up but I don't think it would be that hard to do something like this with cardbacks or other packaging to your own design. I like that guys ones, they're cool. I might have to try doing a proper one sometime. I quite like the idea of just a black and white one, a race track sorround but without the coloured squares.

That would look great, the black and white really works so well.
I also like the card back one as well, but with all the figures on a display it would be quite large?
I don't think that I could stand the dust either so  I would need to fit these into a cabinet of some sort if I had one!

I'll second that! I hate dusting, so have made sure every cabinet I've built over the years has a perspex or glass front to it.

That's exactly what I was looking for - not a fan of the squares, as it looks far too busy to me. I also like the idea of being able to rearrange rather than have in fixed positions. I'd then like the shelves to be backlit with LEDs so they glow. 8)

I would like to do a loose display myself, although I don't have any loose figures yet. I would be very interested in seeing your final design and completed display.

Update - thanks for the heads up and advice everybody.

Have ordered this display design from Matt V on FB...Top bloke (cheers mini99, and rob - I actually sent him your pic above as a guide for what I was looking for )

The design is quite simple - my intention is for the shelves (red dots markers) to be backlit with led strips. It is big enough for about 100 figs, nicely spaced with head room.

Will add updates in the display section when I've got it looking ship-shape. Now all I have to do is actually complete my loose run and then persuade the other half that putting this up on the wall is a good idea

Glad to be able to help, really looking forward to seeing the end result, especially with the LEDs.
Good luck with convincing the "other half" to display this on the wall, that may be your biggest challenge!
