Good call Jim, would have done likewise!

Nice haul, Joe :) You kept those modern proofs quiet! Frightened of being stoned?! Mate they are quality. Been considering picking up a few bits like that but no spare cash and still too much vintage out there at the moment, although after Vectis today (no bidding by me) I think it's fair to say prices have reached a new level of madness so I won't be buying much for a while!

Nick, that Tusken is a peach. Lovely piece and glad to see you didn't return home only with empty Sambucca bottles :)

Although the main thing I took away from CE3 was memories, I was fortunate enough to find some great pieces for the collection, too. These photos are a bit of a cheat as I collected the Luke and Logray from Iain, but the other three are pure CE3, two from the same forum member, as it happens.

First of is the star of the show in many ways. 1) I love this miscard, 2) he's my first miscard, 3) he cost next to nothing, 4) Joe tells me this is the first time a UK price sticker has been found on a miscard 5) because a top forum member pointed me in the direction of it (cheers mate!) and in doing so also pointed me to another unexpected purchase, so he has history already! He is absolutely trashed: you can remove the figure from the top or bottom of the bubble but none the less it's the correct bubble for this miscard so is worth the sum of it's parts for sure.

Love this Logray (thanks Iain) for his awesome bubble and because I didn't even have a Logray anyway. The Bossk is cool and came from the room sales at CE3.

And finally these two. Luke came from the US and via Iain. He's in amazing shape and was sold to me by the original owner. I'm going to attempt to remove the sticker residue when I feel brave one day. Thankfully no litho tear, just residue. Considering the stupid money these have been going for he was a bit of a bargain. FX-7 was a happy coincidence of having the R5/Biker pointed out to me. I've always had a soft spot for FX-7. Love the cardback and I remember coveting the figure as a kid because my brother had one and I didn't. I had considered a FX focus (as well as a 2-1B focus, must be a medical droid thing!) but the 30 back Palitoy and the insane £7k hammer of one at Vectis in 2014 somewhat put a damper on the idea. Hurdle cleared! (Apologies for the cloudy picture but I haven't dared removed him from the case (not graded) yet, those holders on the side scare me a little!)

Nice job Simon, hopefully our missus wasn't too hard on you.

Here is my only vintage purchase at CE3. Walking Luke Bespin is one of my favourite cardbacks and Ive been on the look out for one at a good price for years. Add to that this is my first 30 back and I was buzzing after I purchased it. The bubble is lifting up one side but the figure can't be removed so I can live with that, especially for the price I paid. This leaves me 4 away from completing my Empire run. :D

Saw that Palitoy Luke, awesome MOC, was tempted myself. Simon, as we discussed, the FX7 cardback is easily one of the best looking - nice one mate :) LA thread is getting even more awesome just recently!

I didn't really buy much at CE, but I did pick some quality bits up.

My favourite being the freebie pack given to those who contributed to the Collectors panels. There was a thank you meeting early on Sunday morning before the show opened - there I am sat directly next to Steve Sansweet, hungover and sweating like a swine. We got a full set of medallions, the Star destroyer display, a Hoth Playset thank you sign made from metal and 2 error medallions, basically the description on the back doesn't match the pic on the front.

These were some figures I picked up at the show that I'd bought before the event, thanks to James Woolley and Stef :)

Ledy GG, stunning Glasslite Luke FB, Glasslite Chewie, Glasslite Vader (Kenner sabre), Glasslite Snoopie (my fave!), Meccano TFP with large emblems and Macao BS.

After a year or so of indecision I finally caved in and bought some acrylic from Iain and Christian at CE. Unfortunately these three shelves are the only display room I have so space is super tight and as you can see I like to have a mix of MOCs, some vehicles and also some of the LucasArts video games I collect on there. But the MOCs definitely look better in acrylic :)

Thanks, it's bloody huge, a lot bigger than I was expecting! Had to cull a few mini rigs to make room for it :)

took a while but I knew you'd be converted

I've also finally found something I prefer about acrylic to star cases - the figures stand upright! In star cases they lean slightly forwards so trilogo MOCs are a pain to get the figure standing up straight.

OK, so this is a little bit of a cheat as some of these aren't really 'latest additions' but have been sat in Neil's house for about 3-4 months !

However, lots of vintage goodies so though I should share - also I know that a lot of them are graded - not my choice for sure and am sorely tempted to bust them open - just need to work up the courage first!

OK - so from the top -

DSD with alternative bolt
Couple of Palitoy Rascal Robots (not SW but near enough)
Drawing by Marsha Perkins
Sealed AST-5 with taped down flap

Rebel Soldier with Rebel Blaster
IG-88 (to replace the one I traded to Edd)
Upsidedown carded Teebo
Miscard Han Original on Han Bespin
AT-ST Driver (really need this for my collection even though I must have sold about 20 of them in my lifetime!)

La Guerre Des Etoiles miscard Rebel Solider on Luke Bespin
Meccano C3PO
Wally Revenge Proof
Wally PBP Figure on a 45 Back
Cantina 2 Pack

Thanks to all of those that I purchased these from - all adding in to the ever growing collection
