Hi there,

I have a load of figures/creatures/playsets/vehicles from Star Wars through to POTF, but am starting with these ones to try and get a lay of the land.

None of my toys are boxed or carded, and the vast majority of the guns/staffs, etc. have been lost along the way, but there you go. C'est la vie.

So here are the first 5, my POTF figures - Anakin, Luke (Battle Poncho), Imperial Dignitary, Romba, and Yak Face. Interested to see what people think about them.

Cheers, Tim

Hi Tim and welcome to the forum.

If these were my childhood figures, they'd be going nowhere, but if you've decided to sell then you've come to the right place.

There will be a fair scattering of prices thrown at you and we're all correct in one way or another! Here's my offerings:

Yak - was going to say minter but is that some damage/paint loss to his right shoulder where the two halves of the body meet? If trick of the camera £150-£160, but assuming that's paint loss I'd say £130 tops.

Romba - Complete but easy to find - £35-£40

Luke Poncho - The gun is worth nearly as much as he is! without it and in nice condition I reckon he's £40

Anakin - Common as muck and less interesting. Maybe £12.

The old lady (Imp Dig) - You should get your arm taken off at £35 for him. There does appear to be the mildest discolouration to the torso and there's light frosting on the limbs, but a blast under a light bulb or in the sun for 10 mins will remove that. That's a lot for an old crone but look at that nose! No paint loss!

Thanks Scruffy - really appreciate your response and thoughts.

Re Yak Face, I've had a look at him, with one of those head torches on to make sure I'm not missing anything, and can only find the faintest trace of some kind of paint loss on his left arm (see picture below). Apart from that, really, he looks pretty spiffy.

Luke Poncho - yeah, I defo don't have his gun. and his belt has a split in it (see picture below too), but otherwise he's in beautiful nick.

And 'The old lady' as you brilliantly refer to him, looks perfect to me. Just gave him a wipe, and the torso looks great, and the 'frosting' was just dust. That's all gone now, and he also looks spiffy.

So there you go!

And lastly, I think I'm through the nostalgia phase with these. Had them out on display for ages, but now they're just sitting all sad inside boxes, so I think selling (to someone who will love them!) is the way to go. My brother and I got a ton of fun and pleasure out of them when we were titch, so they've already more than fulfilled their purpose in life!

Thought I ought to list everything I have (and will attempt to sell) as well, just to get it out there:

67 mini-figures:
12 Star Wars
21 Empire
29 ROTJ (inlcuding Sy Snootles & band)
5 POTF

Not included in that total are the multiple random duplicates (3 Bib Fortunas and 3 Niktos, anyone?) and worringly deformed/mutilated figures (including an imperial Hoth stormtrooper missing a foot, and a decapitated Biker Scout - don't ask).

Creatures:
Hoth Wampa
Tauntaun

Playsets:
1 Jabba the Hutt playset (also, one random one-armed Jabba without the rest of the set)
Ewok Village

Vehicles:
Millenium Falcon
Rebel Transport
Snowspeeder
B-Wing
Y-Wing
AT-AT
2x AT-ST
Speeder Bike
AST-5
Desert Sail Skiff
Endor Forest Ranger
INT-4 (possibly x2)
MTV-7
Ewok Combat Glider

And a semi-customised (ie. sporadically painted) Darth Vader case.

Once upon a time I also had an X-Wing, a TIE fighter and some Chewbacca bandolier belts you could attach your figures to to carry them around. But I have literally no clue where they've disappeared to, sadly. I would LOVE to wear a Chewbacca belt to work every day.

Anyway, I'll post more pictures over the next few days.

I also appear to have a second Yak Face staff for some reason. Not sure how, but I do. What does one of those go for these days?

The yak staff will probably belong to a nikto as you don't have barada. They go for around a tenner but are going up in value as people try to pair them with yaks. Most yaks sold didn't come with this one as they were on trilogo cards. Is yours definitely from a potf card (as the title suggests)? If you have the card back it will be worth a fair bit.

Ahhhh, this explains why I have two, especially seeing as I have 3 Niktos.

I assumed the staff belonged to Mr Yak, but seeing as he was purchased in a Toymaster in Ipswich in 1986, it's probably rather unlikely that it's the Canadian POTF figure. I don't have the card to confirm this, but I'd be pretty surprised.

The question is therefore whether to sell them separately, or to pair them with Nikto x2. From a collector's standpoint, I believe in pairing them with their original owner - seems rather dishonest to buy a staff from another character simply to try and get more dosh by bunging it in with a Yak Face which didn't have it in the first place.

Anyway, seriously, thanks for the brilliant info. I don't want to mess anyone about, so this kind of info is vital.

Stick it with the yak. It's the weapon he was supposed to come with and most collectors would consider him incomplete without it. The weapon is the same as nikto so your not cheating anyone and you'll get more money pairing it with yak.
