Very nice Canadian Klaatu. Would have loved that. My Focus is going to be Palitoy and anything foreign I can get my hands on.

I've been a busy little ,cheeky Essex Boy this past 2 weeks,
I've brought that last piece of the jigsaw.... The Leia Blaster to complete my first 21 loose run. Then I brought a original display with pegs for the first 12 to display them on for amazing price of £15 ( thanks to the couple of forum lads who helped me clarify what this was before purchase ) & then I got my first Tri logo moc , a R5 D4 to go with my 21 back R5D4( little focus started but not sure how far money will let me go with this chap)
Any way I'll post some pictures up below and then up date my showcase thread over the coming week with my loose run display ....
Cheers guys,

Ricky.....holy crap  £15?? Isn't that an early bird display piece?? I was impressed when I thought you'd bagged the first 12 mailaway display stand but THAT for £15 has to be bargain of the decade?! Come on, there has to be a story there: this sounds like podcast fodder!

Oh, and love the R5 Trilogo :) And don't feel bad about the Leia blaster, £28 is quite reasonable for the black blaster. Seen people (sorry, I mean nut jobs) paying £40 for that.

A couple of minters turned up yesterday. Not cheap by any means but the outstanding condition of both justified the price.

The story is I was looking for something to have in a display in the small area I've been currently allowed at the bottom of the bookcase ( lads I do the wear trousers .... Seriously I do ..... Well, most of the time !) and was making do with a £8 Death Star boards game from Dan whitely ( looks good and palitoy on it) and mentioned this to me old China "Rodders" who mention some one who had a room up stairs of junk but in among the junk was oddball sort of stuff ( Grant don't get too excited!) . I got my self invited over with matt one night and while chatting to the man in question I started to have a snout about in he's spare room. A few puzzles , posters and handful of erasers and then this display. I was certain it was vintage but fairly new to the game wasn't sure what it was. I showed interest and he said " u can have it for £15" ? I of course picked it up and shock he's hand. I then contacted a couple of helpful fellas off forum( Richard and Iain ) who confirmed what it was and there u have it. Also the following day Carl was selling a minty complete one so was able to see what this beautiful piece would have looked like back in the complete-Nice
I obviously can see it's missing the envelopes and paperwork/ stickers that should be attached but I'm in love with it. I've since unwrapped it and noticed it has been used but in great condition still- I'm currently putting all my figures on it so a nice post in me showcase section will follow today or tomorrow. Thanks for sharing my joy in finding this piece. I have to say anything that I find at the moment or see ,I'm usually bugging someone on messanger to confirm its actually vintage and not a reproduction or something ! (Sorry Iain !)
Any way loving this thread and it's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about hunting out something special
Cheers again &
Happy hunting ,

41 Back Palitoy 2-1B

Well this was an interesting little acquisition. I've been watching it a couple of months. It was originally listed as BIN on eBay for £975. I did a previous sales check on eBay and Vectis to see what any had sold for, and the only one was Vectis a few months back for £240 (before commission, so would have been £300 total) and I was wondering if it was the same figure flipped. The price was dropped a couple of times, until it eventually went into a 10 day auction starting at £249. I messaged the seller to ask what the 70 grade was for, and he said the ding in the bubble. If it was the Vectis one, the punch had obviously come loose at some point in transit to the AFA. The seller wanted to know if I wanted to do a deal outside of eBay, as he'd had a lot of interest. He suggested around £500, but I mentioned that I wasn't prepared to go above £300, but I didn't want to do him out of any money, so said to him to let the auction run as he'd surely do better than that. Well it ended as me as the only bidder at £249. Once I had it I examined it and I'm 99.99% certain it is the Vectis one. Touch, so I got it for £50 less than he paid. I hate those style of AFA case, and the punch hanging out, so did my first jail-brake and put it into one of Iain's cases with the punch re-secured. Scary as hell braking the case open as they don't muck about making them bomb-proof. I used a hammer and screwdriver to open a small corner, then carefully worked away at it with pliers until I could slide it out. Happy days :D

What a card - Absolute Beaut!

Great deal too!
