Could do with a hand on this one, please. Just received this MOC in the post. For an ungraded Rebel Commando I paid a relatively high price considering you can get them in the £40-£50 range. However, on receiving it it's apparent that it's the unpainted face version not the more common painted face version.

I'd like to know what it's worth because I would like to go back to the seller and offer to send him some more money. He's only selling up due to health reasons. He didn't use this as a sales tactic only mentioned it in passing. Immediately after paying for the figure someone pointed out it was rarer than the standard one on the thread. He never enquired whether it was worth much more and never contacted me, etc. he just sent it. As such, I think it's only reasonable to offer more IF I haven't paid something approaching it's true value.

So, what's my lovely latest edition worth, please?

I would not have thought a moulded head would add that much more value. Neat that a China figure is on a Hong Kong card but unless it's a hollow cheek or moulded leg Han or similar 'high demand' variant the MOC price is not affected that much?
Kudos to you for even thinking about offering more money.

Thanks for your reply, aussiejames. I had no idea an unpainted face variant existed, let alone it was made in China rather than HK. And yet now, through the bubble I can see CHINA clearly stamped on one of his gaiters. Learn something new everyday here.

I agree to be honest mate, it's a nice gesture but I honestly don't think obscure variations like this make massive differences to MOC prices.

Cheers, Edd. In which case I have a clear conscience and a nice new MOC for the collection :D

Just looked through my box of spare loose figures and the Rebel Commando in there is also the unpainted face one. Checking my collection te one I have there is an unpainted face. I didn't even notice when I went through having a sort out; I had only given them a cursory look and concentrated more on the COO and both the painted and unpainted are ident!

One less in the spares and another one into the collection :)

Interesting that the COO is different on card and figure. How common is that?

Simon, Simon, Simon..don't you know you have to refer to these types of figures as "moulded/molded" heads and not unpainted ones??? :D http://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/kenner-variants/mold-color-variants/#rebelcommando

Only joking, I just thought I was about to see a factory error commando when I opened the thread

PS Honourable to want to give the seller some more £ but I really don't think there is any need. I'm not sure how common these figures are carded but don't think I've ever seen anyone go bonkers for one just because it was the moulded variant. They seem pretty scarce on Trilogos though, that I do remember  (edit- and here is why! lol /variantsareconfusing http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1075156/ )

What can I say, Joe? I'm but a poorly educated oaf in the the realms of vintage SW. What are the Govt. doing about it, that's what I want to know! Should be on the national curriculum.

Thanks for the lesson and those thread links. Awesome reading :) And you've now got me obsessed with finding this fella on a Trilogo card. Love it! :D
