Carded Anakin skywalker moc tri logo bubble damaged during s

Hi all,
I started collecting moc figures again and recently made a purchase on ebay for a moc tri logo anakin skywalker figure. The listing showed that the card and bubble were in excellent shape prior to posting. However when I opened the box the other day the bubble has been cracked badly during shipping. Guess the figure moving inside the bubble proved too much for such a delicate and old bubble. The packaging the seller used was pretty good also considering.
I was mainly wondering where I stand as to getting a refund. It was posted via royal mail signed for delivery. Anyone else ever experienced this situation before?
Many thanks
Darren :)

I'd send it back to the seller for a refund and then the seller can clam the loss from royal mail. If the seller refusses to accept a return from you then open a eBay case (item not as described). I sold a moc before and the bubble cracked in shipping - the buyer sent it back and I claimed the final price from auction from royal mail. It's not that hard to do. As long as they show what it sold for, and the refund haven to be issued back to the buyer because it was damaged in transit.

Hi Darren

Its always so dissapointing when you hear about something like this. Out of curiosity what was the sellers feedback like? Had they sold other similar items? I would understand a brittle yellow bubble breaking during shipping and even though the tri logo dent easier I cant them them just cracking but thats my opinion. Can you post some pictures? The one and only time this happened to me the seller refunded money after I sent him pics but I dont suppose he had too. Contact the seller, explain the situation and maybe as a gesture of goodwill they might refund your money. I'm not how much your insured for via royal mail. Either was its a total bummer

Thanks for the prompt reply guys!

The seller has 100% feedback and is in the process in sorting it out with the post office/ebay. No doubt it'll all be sorted in the end.
Just horrible to see a moc destroyed.
The bubble was clear also, 100% not cracked prior to posting as I seen loads of pictures before purchasing. Will keep you all posted. Fingers crossed!

Good news that things are going in the right direction. As someone who is waiting for 7 cards to come back from the graders this sort of thing terrifies me, I'm probably going to have nightmares now!

Pictures are spot on, it's not like Anakin has a pointy head or anything but there it is, big crack, i might pm Joe and get his take on the damage.

Sure you'll be fine mate! Guess this is a rare occasion considering the amount of carded figures I've purchased and sold in the past this is the first one I've had damaged.

Jeez,

Top and bottom, what a nightmare. Tell you what though I don't have a tri logo that has the finish at the bottom of the bubble, the two raised bits either side. that's different

Interesting you should bring that up as I didn't really pay much attention to that. I'm no Jedi myself so still a lot to learn with the vintage carded figures. I'm just trying my best to steer clear from fake/repro and re sealed items as they are my number one pet hate in the hobby

Sorry about the figure. Almost all small bubble Anakins pop through during shipping, the figure is just too large and heavy for that particular bubble.

If you are in the market for an Anakin Trilogo always go for the larger more common Trilogo bubble.

This is a really common flaw with this figure and cardback, my personel view is that it's just really bad luck and the risk you take. Royal Mail should pay up tho as they have clearly miss handled the package.

Hope it gets sorted ok. The tough box was clearly dropped that it was shipped in as the one corner has been pressed in slightly. Helps with the case I guess.

Yeah as Joe says about 50% of these you see have cracked bubbles, the large trilogo bubbles although easily dented are very crack resistant, where as these small ones break easily.
