I wanted to display something different from my usual Lego at a local village fete, so I spent a couple of rushed evenings putting together a Star Wars model kit diorama. I already had a couple of Y-Wing kits pretty much completed and a scratch-built gantry from Echo Base. I could do a lot better than this if I had the time, but that's always in short supply.
The smaller Y-Wing is the old version and the other is the current one from Revell. Both kits needed so much alteration that it's hardly worth bothering (Revell not even supplying any landing gear or an in-flight base).
The diorama is in what you could basically call 1:72 (although the interpretation of the scale is all over the place). The older kit is in scale with the under sized studio prop while the Revell is true-to-life scale… at least by my calculations. All of the characters are Galoob Micro Machines characters or by Airfix.
Has anyone else got a current model making project?
Craig.
